IDAHO FALLS, Idaho – The Brad Little for Governor campaign announces the new appointment of its Eastern Idaho Campaign Advisor, Sheila Olsen. Olsen has decades of political experience and has worked closely with highly respected Republican leaders. “I have known Brad Little for many years, he has served Idahoans with great distinction and embodies the type of conservative values we need from our next Governor,” Olsen said. “He is the best candidate because he understands the uniqueness of the issues facing Idaho.”
“I am pleased to have Sheila’s experience on our team. Sheila is a well-respected member of her community with a strong political background and deep roots in Idaho’s Republican party,” said Lt. Governor Little. “Shelia has the experience and Idaho values that our campaign is focused on promoting.”
Olsen is the Legislative Chair for the State Federation of Republican Women, she has served as the Eastern Idaho consultant for Otter for Idaho, a consultant to Melaleuca on political and community affairs and political consultant to campaigns for Governor Phil Batt, Congressman Larry Craig and Senator Mike Crapo. Olsen has dutifully served the Idaho Republican Party as a special assistant to then Executive Director Batt, is a past Vice Chair and current Board member for Region VII of the Idaho Republican Party.
Olsen is also actively involved in her church and has currently served more than three decades as the Director of Public Affairs for the Ammon West Stake in Idaho Falls and is also the current Media Advisor for Public Affairs in Eastern Idaho. Olsen served on the Brigham Young University Alumni Board of Directors and has received numerous awards including the Service to Family Award from Brigham Young University and was listed as Who’s Who in American Politics.
“There’s no substitute for experience, and Sheila has been part of winning political campaigns in Idaho for decades,” Little said.
Olsen is the widow of attorney, civic leader, and political leader who served as Chairman of the Idaho Republican Party, Dennis Olsen. She is a mother of 10 as well as a grandmother and great-grandmother. Olsen received the National Mother of the Year award from President George H.W. Bush in 1989.
