Little signed House Bill 93 in February of 2025, creating Idaho’s Parental Choice Tax Credit (PCTC) program, the state’s first private school choice initiative. By July 2026, the program reached its funding cap, triggering a wait list.
The refundable tax credit provides nearly $50 million in state funding for qualifying nonpublic education expenses. Eligible families receive up to $5,000 per student and up to $7,500 for students with a qualifying disability.
During Little’s administration, Idaho successfully started LAUNCH, a workforce grant program that supports graduating high school students. Together, LAUNCH and the PCTC made Idaho the first state to offer education freedom from kindergarten through career.
At the federal level, Gov. Little opted Idaho into the Education Freedom Tax Credit (EFTC). Under the EFTC, individual taxpayers receive a dollar-for-dollar credit up to 1,700(3,400 for married couples filing jointly) for donating to scholarship granting organizations, which in turn distribute scholarships to K-12 students.

BOISE, ID (Sept. 22, 2026) – The political action committee for Idaho’s leading small business association today announced its endorsement of Gov. Brad Little for reelection.
“Luck doesn’t explain why Idaho has weathered all the economic turbulence of the past few years better than every other state in the nation. Leadership explains it. The leadership shown by Gov. Brad Little,” said Suzanne Budge, state director for NFIB in Idaho, speaking for the NFIB ID PAC, which made the endorsement of Little for reelection.
“It’s really remarkable that the combination of a pandemic, supply-chain disruptions, inflation, labor shortages, and a host of other problems, which continue to afflict so many other states, have not had the devastating consequences on Idaho they have had elsewhere. The reason for that is Governor Little put the right policies in place. Policies that not only dealt with the immediate but prepared the state for the future.”
Budge cited reductions in income, sales, and grocery taxes, along with refinements in the state’s workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance programs as examples of the leadership Governor Little exhibited to prepare Idaho for economic growth.
“It would have been so easy to call for raising taxes to cover dips in state revenues, like our neighbors Oregon and Washington state just did, but Governor Little knows a short-term fix is never a long-lasting correction, so he ordered the line held on both taxes and spending. This decision and his previous policy victories give us the confidence to say that no state’s chief executive has been better for Main Street enterprises than Idaho’s. Idaho small businesses proudly endorse Gov. Brad Little for reelection.”
